Lincoln Park Business Development Institute

The LPCC understands the importance of nurturing small businesses, and, as a result, we developed the Lincoln Park Business Development Institute (LPBDI), the educational arm of the LPCC.  The LPBDI is a nonprofit organization that aims to educate and provide resources for business owners.

Founded in 2001, the LPBDI regularly partners with the DePaul University Coleman Entrepreneurship Center to develop and hold events and business seminars.  The Coleman Center is an entrepreneurship support organization at DePaul that offers consulting services, educational programs and helpful resources to entrepreneurs and business owners in the Chicago area.

Events are held several times a year and feature panel-based discussions on topics relevant to members in varying stages of business.  Past event topics have included: “Marketing Mishaps: The Most Common Mistakes to Avoid” and “Opening a New Location: The Ins and Outs of Growth by Replication.”  Panelists include experienced business owners and other experts who share practical strategies and information.

The LPBDI and the Coleman Center’s most prominent program is Start Up! Chicago, an intensive 10-week course on how to start a business. For more information, visit www.startupchicago.org.
