LAKEFRONT SCULPTURE EXHIBIT (LSE)
Every year, visitors and residents stroll the streets in Lincoln Park and enjoy sculptures throughout the neighborhood. The LPCC supports beautifying our neighborhood with contemporary public art through sponsorship of the Lakefront Sculpture Exhibit (LSE), which is spearheaded by 43rd Ward Alderman Vi Daley and 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney and entirely funded by private contributions.
This year, the LSE selected 15 new sculptures that will be on display from May 2009 through May 2010 – we encourage you to view all of the pieces throughout the year. Don’t miss the sculpture the LPCC sponsored, which is located near 2700 N. Clark, in front of Best Buy. Artists throughout the Chicago area apply to participate in the LSE and in addition to having their artwork on display, artists chosen to participate in the LSE receive a cash award of $1,500. Each sculpture will also be available for purchase.
Find out more about the LSE. Contact 43rd Ward Alderman Vi Daley’s office at (773) 327-9111 with questions.
