Chicago History Museum Wins National Medal

The Institute of Museum and Library Services has named the Chicago History Museum one of ten recipients of the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries for service to the community. First Lady Michelle Obama and Director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Dr. Kathryn K. Matthew presented the award to Museum President Gary T. Johnson and community member Joyce Chiu at a White House ceremony on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Read more here.
