Ald. Smith Makes Case for Park in Clybourn Corridor

Posted on January 6, 2016

In support of a new public park in the Clybourn Planned Manufacturing District (PMD), 43rd Ward Alderman Michele Smith wrote an op-ed for the Chicago Tribune stating her case.

She writes, “We have asked the Chicago Department of Planning and Development to establish development criteria for the Clybourn PMD that will ensure the priceless land along the river also includes a public park with recreational facilities. We must not miss this moment. We can create a public asset and still accommodate private interests on the last large tract of land to be developed in this part of the city.” Click here for the full article.

In advance of the final Department of Planning and Development meeting (TBD), Ald. Smith asks residents to send comments to dpd@cityofchicago.org with a copy to yourvoice@ward43.org.
