Read More, Be More: A Seussian Celebration of Arts and Literacy with Emerald City Theater
Join Emerald City Theatre in celebrating the advancement of literacy and the arts in Chicago Public Schools at Read More, Be More: A Seussian Celebration of Arts and Literacy, an adults-only Seuss-themed fundraiser honoring educators, partners, and supporters of Emerald City Theatre and our arts and literacy outreach program, One Fund.
Tickets begin at $100 and include an awards ceremony honoring educators, partners, and supporters with Zagat-rated cuisine, drink selections, a silent auction, and entertainment.

Out at Chicago History Museum: Art, AIDS, and Activism in Chicago
Art was used to speak about the AIDS pandemic, advocate for its victims and critique public response to the health crisis. A panel will examine the artists who participated as activists in the AIDS crisis and the contemporary artists whose work is influenced by the AIDS crisis and ongoing HIV health issues. The panel will draw on two exhibitions on view in Chicago: “ArtAIDSAmerica,”at the Alphawood Gallery and “One day this kid will get larger,” at the Depaul Art Museum.

Chicago’s 180th Birthday at the Chicago History Museum
Join the Chicago History Museum as they celebrate the city’s 180th birthday with a day of four-star fun! This festive event includes music, special remarks, and family-friendly storytelling and crafts. Beginning at 11:00am a special ceremony commemorates this important anniversary. Following the ceremony, birthday cake is available to all party-goers. Special certificates are available for individuals born on March 4. Please note, cake and certificates available while supplies last. Presented in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Greg Graffin @ Lincoln Hall
Greg Graffin is playing at Lincoln Hall this weekend. Graffin is the lead singer and frontman of the Los Angeles-based punk rock band, Bad Religion. Come out to Lincoln Hall for this one-night only performance from a punk-rock legend. Also performing is folk singer/songwriter Emily Davis. Tickets are $18, and for adults 21+ only.

The Snowy Day and Other Stories @ Apollo Theater
Come celebrate first experiences as young Peter’s childhood adventures are told through shadow puppetry and movement for a visual feast. Tickets start at $19 and are available online or by calling the Apollo Theater box office. This production is intended for children ages 3-9.

Sing Along with Electric Neil
Bring your kids to the Main Barn at the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Farm-in-the-Zoo to sing and dance along with Electric Neil. Electric Neil performs original songs about animals and encourages the children to dance along with the music. This joyful jamboree is for children 6 and younger accompanied by a caregiver.
