Public Meeting Notice: N. Throop Fleet & Facility Management Site Sale

Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd Ward) is hosting a community meeting to discuss the sale of the Chicago Department of Fleet and Facility Management site, located at 1685 N. Throop St. It will be held in the Student Center at DePaul University (2250 N. Sheffield, Room 120B) on Thursday, September 28, at 6:30 pm.
This public meeting will be held to discuss the details of the sale that were added to the agenda for today’s Committee on Housing and Real Estate meeting.
While not a sitting member of the Committee, I attended the meeting and requested that the ordinance be held to allow time to read and review the 335-page ordinance pertaining to the sale of the site.
Acknowledging that this is short notice to organize a public meeting, I’m committed to ensuring that an open and transparent process exists as the North Branch accommodates for future development and land use opportunities. While this site is located just outside of the official Lincoln Park border, any development in this area will have a potential impact on the neighborhood. Lincoln Park residents, business owners and managers are encouraged to attend.
