CPD Reminds Businesses, Residents to Remain Aware

At the August CAPS Hospitality meeting, organized by the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, police captains and sergeants from across Lincoln Park reminded bar and restaurant owners, as well as everyday residents to remain vigilant in protecting themselves from robberies and other violent crime.

Always, they reminded the assembled crowd, call 911.  Always be aware of your surroundings.  Avoid secluded areas such as parks, alleys and vacant lots.  Many of the recent robberies in our community have been on individuals who were intoxicated.  Bars and restaurants are urged to take extra precautions with patrons who may have been overserved.  Offer to call them a cab.  Make sure someone is helping them home.

Together, we maintain - and enhance - the already sterling reputation experienced by all in Lincoln Park.
