Clark Street SSA Halloween Spooktacular Recap

Hundreds of children participated in the Clark Street Spooktacular on Saturday, October 31 between 1:00 p.m. and 4 p.m. Guests started out at “Halloween Headquarters” where they were invited to design their own trick-or-treat bag, craft their own jack-o-lantern and participate in some festive games before trick-or-treating through the neighborhood.

The Hoyle Brothers played a free concert all afternoon and then helped orchestrate the Costume Contest at 3:30 p.m. in the plaza at 444 W. Fullerton. Special thanks to our costume judges Pat Dearing of the Park West Community Association and Jim Kroeger of Lincoln Park Fitness.

Also included in the celebration was the first annual “Scarecrows on Clark” competition, in which 23 Clark Street merchants displayed a unique scarecrow in their store to be voted on by the public.

The winners are:
•    First Place - “Bride of Frankenstein,” Elizabeth Grace, 2438 N. Clark
•    Second Place – “Pumkina Scarsky Midnight Shift Barista,” Couture Crepe Café, 2568 N. Clark
