CHICAGO (June 7, 2010) – The Lincoln Park neighborhood has a diverse range of businesses, shops, restaurants and cultural institutions for residents, DePaul University students, hospital employees and visitors to Chicago. With walkable streets and a range of options, it’s not surprising that many families call Lincoln Park home. This range of shopping and dining options, coupled with a diverse population makes Lincoln Park a destination neighborhood for national chains, local boutiques and restaurants.
Located at 2218 N. Lincoln, Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels’ Café Twist™ opened their new location in May to provide new and unique culinary offerings to the Lincoln Park neighborhood. On Monday, June 7, the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce (LPCC) joined community members, local businesses and staff from the new location to officially welcome the Café Twist™ to Lincoln Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“The mission of the Café is to be as socially responsible and eco-friendly as possible,” says Kim Holstein, president and Chief Inspiration Officer of Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels. “At Twist Café™, we have the opportunity to nurture and nourish the stomachs, spirits and souls of our community.”
The Café is fueled by Kim & Scott’s “Pretzels with a Purpose” mantra. When Kim and Scott Holstein, started the business 15 years ago, they vowed that good must come from every pretzel. Today, Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels commits pretzels, time and money to organizations that make a difference in the world community.
Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels was founded in 1995 by husband and wife team Kim and Scott Holstein. Since inception, the company has prided itself on its all natural, twisted by hand soft pretzels made in a nut-free bakery. The pretzels can be found in the frozen grocery aisles of Jewel and Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park. Twist Café™, 2218 N. Lincoln opened spring 2010 marking the company’s 15th anniversary in business.
“The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to celebrate the opening of Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels’ Café Twist™ in the Lincoln Park neighborhood,” said Kim Schilf, President and CEO of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce. “Lincoln Park is well-known for offering unique and diverse restaurants and cafes and Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels will further build on this reputation.”
