Minimum Wage Increase

Posted on June 29, 2010 in Business, Legislative

On July 1st, Illinois' minimum wage will increase from the current $8.00 per hour to $8.25 per hour. This increase is the third and final annual increase established under the current law.

Unless a new law is passed by the Assembly and signed into law by the Governor, Illinois' minimum wage will now remain at $8.25 per hour. As of this writing, Illinois' minimum wage is $1.00 per hour higher than the Federal minimum wage, $1.00 per hour higher than all of our border states (i.e. Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, and Wisconsin), and the third highest in the country behind Washington and Oregon.
