State Passes Small Business Assistance
On January 17 Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation creating the Small Business Job Creation Tax Credit, a credit that will assist small businesses and help former Put Illinois to Work participants gain employment. Under the new law, any business that employs 50 or fewer people is eligible for the $2,500 credit if they hire a former trainee of Put Illinois to Work, a nationally-recognized program implemented by Governor Quinn last summer.
Beginning in February, employers may register for the program at JobsTaxCredit.illinois.gov. For more information, call (800) 252-2923.
