Lincoln Park Community Shelter Wins Service Award
LPCC member, Lincoln Park Community Shelter, has been recognized with the "Service Excellence Award" by the Emergency Fund.
The Emergency Fund is a foundation that partners with social service agencies to provide direct financial assistance to those in need - including rental or utility assistance to prevent homelessness, transportation assistance or uniform for a new job, and even one-time medical expenses to help someone through a crisis. LPCS has been a partner agency for about 5 years, and is one of nearly 60 partner agencies throughout Chicago and the suburbs. For more information on the Emergency Fund, click here http://www.emergencyfund.org/.
The annual Service Excellence Award recognizes the partner agency that has done the finest job improving the lives of people in the communities they serve, and comes with a $5,000 unrestricted grant. It is an honor to be recognized by a funder in this way as standing out from our peers. The award will be presented at a reception and dinner on May 3, 2011 at Lincoln Park Zoo's Café Brauer.
