Mexican Food Born Out of Traditional Ingredients and Contemporary Flavors

CHICAGO (March 9, 2011) – One of Lincoln Park’s most unique qualities is the provision of a diverse range of restaurant options, ranging from local eateries to national chains and from contemporary American cuisine to dozens of ethnic favorites.  With a wide audience looking for the best in dining options, Lincoln Park is ripe for expansion – and that’s exactly what one nationally-renowned restaurant recently did.

Located at 2191 N. Clybourn, Qdoba Mexican Grill’s new location offers another Lincoln Park location for residents to access the complete Mexican food experience provided in a timely fashion.  On Tuesday, March 8, 2011, the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce (LPCC) joined community members, local businesses and staff from the new location to officially welcome Qdoba Mexican Grill to another location in Lincoln Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  The assembled crowd shared in Qdoba’s expansion in the community with conversation and complimentary favorites from the Mexican food destination.

“We are thrilled to bring our third Lincoln Park location to Clybourn and Webster, adding a convenient Queso-stop on the west end of the neighborhood. This area welcomed and supported us when we opened our Diversey location this time last year, and we expect nothing less this time around,” said Tricia Woellert of Qdoba Mexican Grill.  “We were pleased to serve all chamber members dinner on us at our grand opening ceremony on March 8, 2011.

“If you’ve got little ones in the house, bring them out on March 19, 2011 for a Lil Foodies event from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.,” Woellert continued. “We will be featuring children’s author Amy Recob reading her book about friends with food allergies. Plus, kids under 12 will enjoy a free entrée all day.”

Qdoba Mexican Grill, complete with more than 500 locations throughout the United States and now three in the Lincoln Park community, has become a leader in the quick preparation of quality ingredients to offer traditional Mexican food at affordable prices.  Other locations in the Lincoln Park community include 957 W. Diversey and 2427 N. Lincoln, offering access on the North and West sides of the neighborhood as well as a location near neighborhood anchor DePaul University.

Qdoba Mexican Grill opened their first location in 1995 in Denver, Colorado.  Qdoba Mexican Grill prides themselves on building upon traditional flavors and menu items to continue to innovate affordable Mexican cooking.  Qdoba Mexican Grill offers each guest the opportunity to customize their order, whether it’s a burrito, tacos or quesadilla.  Varied ingredients come together to form different levels of spice in Qdoba’s salsa choices, while unique breakfast options help set the restaurant apart from other fast-casual Mexican restaurants in the market today.

“We are honored that Qdoba Mexican Grill has decided to call Lincoln Park home to three of their restaurants,” said Kim Schilf, President and CEO of the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce.  “The established reputation of both Lincoln Park and Qdoba will prove to be mutually beneficial for years to come.”

Qdoba Mexican Grill is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week and offers a complete approach to traditional Mexican favorites, from tacos and burritos to chips, dips and nachos.  For more information please call (773) 472-6374 or visit them online at www.qdoba.com.
