Shencheng Xu received his MFA in Sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Rinehart School of Sculpture in 2001. The same year, he received the “Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award” from the International Sculpture Center. His BFA in Sculpture was received from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, China in 1993. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions. He completed over a dozen outdoor monumental sculptures both in the United States and in China. He uses a variety of media and techniques in his works, both traditional and contemporary. His works have been published in “Sculpture” and several other art periodicals. Currently he is an associate professor of sculpture at Northeastern Illinois University.
