Live from Chicago

Lincoln Park is well known as an exceptional neighborhood to live, work, play – and, especially, be entertained. Whether you’re a fan of indie rock, improv comedy or world-class theater, Lincoln Park has the attraction for you.

Lincoln Park is home to nearly a dozen theaters all offering shows that range from hilarious to thought provoking. Some favorites include American Blues Theater (2257 N. Lincoln), the family-friendly Emerald City Theater (2936 N. Southport), the award-winning Steppenwolf Theater Company (1650 N. Halsted) and the historic Victory Gardens Biograph Theater (2433 N. Lincoln).

The list of famous alums that have honed their comedic craft from The Second City (1616 N. Wells) is nothing short of astounding. Dan Akyroyd, Tina Fey, Alan Alda, Chris Farley, Bonnie Hunt to name a few. There are hundreds of names you’ll recognize, and if you attend a show at their Lincoln Park location – you might even catch a future star up close. The laughs don’t stop on Wells Street. Moving to a huge space in Lincoln Park last year, The iO Theater (1501 N. Kingsbury) offers fans hilarious long-form improvisational performances on one of four stages.

Don’t worry music lovers, the stages in Lincoln Park aren’t just for actors and comedians. National touring bands and their fans love Kingston Mines (2548 N. Halsted) and the Park West (322 W. Armitage).
