Join mindful parenting expert Dr. Shauna Shapiro for a revolutionary lecture combining the ancient wisdom of mindfulness with modern neuroscience to help us deepen our capacity to raise emotionally intelligent children. The word “discipline” has a negative connotation in our culture and in our society. Many parents think discipline is overly harsh and antiquated. But when you look at the root of the word, discipline is really about teaching and learning. As parents, we want to teach our children skills that are going to help them cultivate greater happiness and health in their lives. Mindful discipline involves creating boundaries and guidance in a conscious, loving way that can deeply support your children’s growth and development.
Together, we will explore the latest advances in science and clinical research to consider how to effectively integrate mindfulness and compassion into parenting and teaching. The intention of this lecture is to examine practices that can transform our individual and collective lives.
