Artists Nate Young & Ayanah Moor in Conversation with Nyeema Morgan presented by the DePaul Art Museum

December 2, 2020 | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

The precarity of 2020 has brought American ideological conflict to a head. Against the glaring bias of American meritocracy, the corrosion of civil discourse and the rise of antisocialism and the sociopathic hero, is an appeal to empathy a viable strategy for resolving conflict, one that is predicated on ‘misunderstanding’?

The DePaul Art Museum hosts a panel discussion on the occasion of artists Ayanah Moor’s billboard exhibition for you and Nate Young’s inclusion in the Driehaus Museum exhibition A Tale of Today. Young’s poetic and reflective works are based primarily in sculpture and drawing. Moors interdisciplinary works are situated in image and text based intervention. Moderated by artist Nyeema Morgan, both artists will discuss the narrative and/or discursive use of text to connect subjects by empathetic means.
