If you are traveling to Lincoln Park from the suburbs or either O’Hare or Midway Airport, you will want to travel to the neighborhood via the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/I-94). Lincoln Park is accessed from the Kennedy by exiting at one of the following streets and heading east: Diversey, Fullerton, Damen (Northbound only; turn right for Fullerton, left for Webster), Armitage and North.
You can also reach Lincoln Park via Lake Shore Drive. Exit at Fullerton or North Ave. and travel west – the neighborhood’s famous park will help you transition from highway to our quaint neighborhood.
Staying downtown without a car? Download any ride share app for a quick trip north to visit Lincoln Park. Most rides from downtown to Lincoln Park average about 15 – 30 minutes depending on traffic. If you’re looking to experience Chicago like a local, Lincoln Park is one of the easiest neighborhoods to visit and navigate.
Most commercial streets in Lincoln Park feature pay by plate parking boxes that allow individuals to purchase time with credit cards. The maximum allotted time on streets governed by pay-and-display boxes is generally three hours. You can also download the Park Chicago app for easy payment and tracking of your parking needs.
Chicago is also home to residential parking permits which limit parking on many city streets to residents and their guests during designated hours. Often located around high traffic areas including schools, high-density residential neighborhoods and commercial districts, several residential parking zones can be found across much of Lincoln Park. Visitor parking passes are available to residents living in a zoned parking area for friends and visitors.
These permit passes can be purchased at your Alderman’s office. If you live in Chicago, click here to find your Ward and Alderman.
