In light of COVID-19, the Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health orders a partial suspension in enforcement of 8-32-130 of the municipal code (loading and unloading operations), by exercising general police power of the City of Chicago, to enable delivery of essential items such as groceries, food, healthcare supplies and/or equipment, and replenishment of necessary commodities for stores. The request to partially suspend enforcement of 8-32-130 shall take effect through May 1, 2020. Routine enforcement of this section should continue for noise related to loading or unloading that has no clear benefit to the public.
