Lincoln Park Welcomes Belmont Village

Posted on July 19, 2016

Belmont Village Senior Living, a venture of Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, presented its plan for their recent purchase of the Nellie Black Building at 702-710 W. Fullerton Parkway on the former Children’s Memorial Hospital campus. The new senior housing facility is part of a $350 million redevelopment of the six-acre site in Lincoln Park at the intersection of Fullerton, Halsted and Lincoln led by McCaffery Interests. Construction on Belmont Village is scheduled to begin in early 2017 and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018.

In a recent article from Senior Housing News, architect Tom Daly explains, “When we build new communities, we pay a lot of attention to the urban context and the part of the country that we’re in. We like our communities to feel at home in the cities where we’re building. We don’t want to put tile roofs and stucco walls in Chicago, and we don’t want to put stainless steel and neon in Los Angeles.”
