Chicago Costume Celebrates Chicago Cosplay Community

Posted on March 2, 2018

On March 15, cosplayers are invited to attend Chicago Costume’s first annual Cosplay Night at their Lincoln Park location from 8:00 -10:00 p.m. At this free event there will be onsite demos of bodypainting, wig styling, and special effects makeup. In attendance will be special cosplay guests from groups such as The Age of Geeks, Chicago Bombshells, and Midwesteros Game of Thrones cosplay group. To round out this impressive list there will also be representatives from Otherworld Theatre and Exotic lenses.com.

With comic books being a $286 million industry for the continent in 2017, conventions are a cultural and economic force. Cosplayers are taking over Chicago for what can only be described as cosplay madness in the month of March ahead of C2E2. Events are being hosted all over Chicago including at the Adler Planetarium, Revolution Brewing Tap Room, and Emporium Arcade Bar. Maggie Brenner, manager of the Lincoln Park location and the event’s creator demonstrates just what makes Chicago cosplayers so extraordinary, “The cosplayers of Chicago are a diverse and passionate community and we are excited for the opportunity to welcome them into our unique store to get to know our company better.”
