Crain’s Chicago reports that CRM Properties Group has “filed a zoning application for a 40-story, 500-unit tower at 1520-76 N. Fremont. It would form part of a mixed-use project on the former site of restaurant Bub City that CRM developed in 1989 along with other commercial projects over the past two decades in the busy shopping area.”

It would be the tallest building in the neighborhood at 465 feet. In 2015, CRM’s efforts for a development featuring two towers of 29 stories and 407 units was stalled. The current development sets aside 100 units under the city’s affordable-housing pilot program.
