Emerald City Theatre Announces Four New Board Members, Honors Emerald Award Recipient

Posted on September 26, 2018

Emerald City Theatre (ECT) is proud to welcome four new members to its Board of Directors: Chicago Public Schools Director of Selective Enrollment Tony Howard; Shelley Sheward, formerly of Deloitte, who also serves on ECT’s Event Committee; Sharon Silberg of iHeartMedia, who is also the Vice-Chair of ECT’s Community Board; and community volunteer Sharon Book, who serves as Co-Chair for ECT’s Event Committee.

The addition of these new Board members supports ECT’s long-term goal to become the leading performing arts institution dedicated solely to Chicago’s children. They bring diverse expertise including audit and risk, marketing, and business development to the ECT Board of Directors, which will help ECT move toward its artistic, financial, and human resources goals over the next several years.

Strategy Chair Kash Muthuraman, Head of Logistics Capability at The Kraft Heinz Company, is the recipient of the 2018 Emerald Award, which was also presented at the September 6 Board of Directors meeting. The Emerald Award celebrates Board members whose individual contributions demonstrate remarkable leadership by example, boundless energy, and a deep sense of personal dedication toward the accomplishment of the larger mutual goal.
