Join Lori’s Shoes for “You Shop, We Give Campaign”

Posted on April 18, 2019

Lori and Brian Andre, who have run the eponymous LORI’S women’s fashion shoes, clothing, and accessories stores for over thirty-five years in Chicago are asking local businesses to join “You Shop, We Give” – a campaign to help those in our city living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

In 2016, Brian was diagnosed with ALS. ALS is always fatal and most patients die in less than five years. Brian had no family history so they had no warning; just a new reality.

They’re asking Lincoln Park businesses to come together and join this campaign by agreeing to donate one percent of your sales from May 18 – May 25 to ALS research and care for those living with ALS. May is national awareness month for ALS.

How Will It Work?
Lori and Brian will do all the lifting on publicity; paper, radio, tv, social. You can help by:
• promoting the event on your social channels
• post a sign in your store with the “You Shop, We Give” logo
• hand out stickers to those who buy from you May 18 – May 25
• Agree to donate 1% of your sales to ALS research and care for those living with ALS.

Where will the donations go?
All proceeds will go to I AM ALS, the Les Turner ALS Foundation, ALS Association Greater Chicago Chapter, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association Chicago Chapter that aim to accelerate the search for cures for ALS and to empower those living with ALS.

So, why is LORI’S spearheading this campaign to fight ALS?

After recovering from the initial shock of Brian’s diagnosis, they took off on a cross country educational tour, meeting with the nation’s leading experts in the field, both clinicians and researchers. They did so because they were determined to amass the best possible arsenal to do battle with ALS. Today, they can honestly say that it is not a question of if a cure will be found for ALS, but when. All they need is your support and more funding for research.

They are asking you to link arms, support your fellow Chicagoans and send a message to the world that our city will lead this fight.
