Lincoln Park Theaters Earn Jeff Award Nominations

Congratulations to Lincoln Park’s amazing theaters on their 2018 Jeff Award Nominations! Twenty-four world premiere plays and musicals seen first by Chicago audiences were among those receiving nominations by The Jeff Awards, announced today. A total of 178 nominations were made in 31 categories that honor Chicago Equity theatrical productions that opened between August 1, 2017 and July 31, 2018.
Victory Gardens Theater on Lincoln Avenue leads the Lincoln Park pack with 10 nominations which include Best Production – Musical (“Fun Home”), New Work (“Lettie”), Director (Gary Griffin, Dexter Bullard and Chay Yew), Performer in Principal Role – Play (Caroline Neff – “Lettie”), Performer in Principal Role – Musical (Rob Lindley – “Fun Home”), Performer in a Supporting Role – Musical (Hannah Starr – “Fun Home”), Music Direction (Doug Peck – “Fun Home”) and Projection Design (Stephan Mazurek – “Lettie”). Greenhouse Theater Center followed up with 7 nominations for “Machinal” followed by nominations for Remy Bumppo (Costume Design and Sound Design – “The Skin of Our Teeth”), Steppenwolf Theatre (Scenic Design – “The Doppelganger”) and The Second City (Performer in a Revue – Jasbir Singh Vazquez).
The 50th Annual Equity Jeff Awards ceremony will be held on Monday, October 22nd, at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace. The evening is black tie optional, and the public is invited to attend. To purchase tickets, visit the Jeff Awards website.
