Where Did We Sit On The Bus? @ Victory Gardens Theater

Where Did We Sit on the Bus? is an electric one-man show pulsing with Latin rhythms, rap, hip-hop, spoken word, and live looping. During a third grade lesson on the Civil Rights movement and Rosa Parks, a Latino boy raises his hand to ask, “Where did we sit on the bus?” and his teacher can’t answer the question. This thrilling autobiographical production examines what it means to be Latino through the eyes of a child, turned teenager, turned adult.

Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3
3:00 p.m.
Victory Gardens Theater
2433 N. Lincoln

Strangest Things @ Greenhouse Theater

The year is 1983. A young boy vanishes, waffles change a bald girl’s life, and a troubled sheriff’s small town is turned upside down. Set to the intoxicating beats of your favorite 80’s hits, Strangest Things! is a new musical mystery from the twisted minds behind Barney the Elf and Ladies Night of the Living Dead. Lovingly ripped off from the hit Netflix series, Strangest Things! The Musical takes us back to a time when the hair was huge, the music was loud, and parents were nowhere to be found.

Saturday, June 3
8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Greenhouse Theater
2257 N. Lincoln

Pass Over @ Steppenwolf Theater

Moses and Kitch stand around on the corner—making fun of people, passing the time and hoping that maybe today will be different. As they dream of their promised land, a stranger wanders into their space with his own agenda and derails their plans. Emotional and lyrical, Pass Over crafts everyday profanities into poetic and humorous riffs, exposing the unquestionable human spirit of young men stuck in a cycle just looking for a way out.

A provocative and hilarious riff on Waiting for Godot, Pass Over is a rare piece of politically charged theater by a bold new American voice.
