Lincoln Park Weekend Guide – May 11 to 14

This weekend, we’re hosting the first ever wine stroll through Armitage and Halsted. This event is sold out, but there are lots of great things to do in Lincoln Park this weekend from thoughtful public programs to fun family time to lots of great ways to celebrate Mother’s Day.

QUEEN Public Program: College Night
Gender parity is just one issue that the scientists in QUEEN, Sanam and Ariel, face throughout their careers. Women comprise only 25% of the workforce in STEM fields. Join Victory Gardens for a night of short plays written and performed by Chicago college students from Northwestern, DePaul, University of Chicago, and Columbia, reflecting on the challenges that women face in their professional lives.

Metamorphosis 2017 @ Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
Metamorphosis is the signature annual event benefiting the Guests and programs of the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. The event will feature a cocktail hour, three-course seated dinner, live entertainment and dancing provided by Giordano Dance Chicago, raffles, a live auction featuring unique experiences, and more!

Food Truck Social @ Lincoln Park Zoo
Where can you enjoy grilled cheese, doughnuts, pierogis, tacos and more—all in one place? At Lincoln Park Zoo’s Food Truck Social! Experience the finest meals (on wheels) Chicago has to offer, while also enjoying the entire zoo after-hours. In addition to dozens of food trucks, there will be fun activities, DJ tunes and drinks available for purchase.

Mother Goose’s Garden @ Emerald City Theatre
One, two, buckle your shoe, and take a gander at Mother Goose’s magical community garden at ECT’s Little Theatre! Join Jack and Jill as they search for Mother Goose and help out a gaggle of your favorite characters along the way. Sing along to live music with Little Boy Blue, Miss Muffett, and others as you experience the fun in teamwork through hand-puppetry and interactive play.
