Here’s your Lincoln Park Labor Day weekend event guide to catch some of Chicago’s best culture, food and happenings in the neighborhood.


Summer Concert Series @ NEWCITY
Celebrate the end of summer with NEWCITY. Kings Bowl will be serving beer, wine, sangria, pulled pork sliders and hot dogs in the plaza. Bring a lawn chair, grab some food and drink, and enjoy the show.

Gene Wilder Series @ ArcLight Cinemas
ArcLight Cinemas celebrates the legacy of Gene Wilder with screenings of two classics, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory and Blazing Saddles. Proceeds from the screening will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Whirled News Tonight @ iO Theater
The Whirled News Tonight team strives to not only provide a satirical turn on current events, but to provide another, human, point of view of those stories. When the audience arrives they will be brought to a table with several local and national publications where they can cut out any articles they are interested in and tack them onto several bulletin boards onstage. The cast will randomly choose articles on which to base their improvisation.
