Volunteer Opportunity: Lincoln Park Farmers Market

Interested in helping out at The Lincoln Park Farmers Market this season? With stringent required City of Chicago COVID-19 protocols in place, the Lincoln Park Farmers Market needs help making sure the market runs smoothly and safely. Please consider volunteering!

The Lincoln Park Farmers Market could not open or operate again this season without volunteers; the shifts are quick and fun, and they welcome you to join us for a shift or two or more; to sign up and/or for more information, please contact Market Manager Elsa M Jacobson at elsajacobson@gmail.com.

If you know you are interested, here is additional information:

–youth and non-profit organizations are encouraged; community service hours are available.

–the market is on rain or shine (or sleet or hail or snow…); please wear appropriate outdoor apparel!

–all volunteer opportunities involve standing on cement; please wear appropriate footwear!

–please bring as little as possible with you and plan to have your hands free for work; our site has no storage space where you can leave belongings you bring with you!

–we encourage you to shop, but you must do so outside of your shift!

–the volunteer shifts are all public-facing; 49% of the work is to maintain and enforce the protocols; 51% is to greet, welcome, engage, thank and assist their wonderful customers and vendors!

Shifts

These are the shifts each Saturday:

Shift #1 — 5:45 – 8:15 a.m. – set up, open, and run

Shift #2 – 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.– run market

Shift #3 – 10:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. – run and tear down/clean up

These may adjust slightly as they wend their way through the season.
