Artist Talk: Julia Fish at the DePaul Art Museum
October 30, 2019 | 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
In the first museum survey of her work in 23 years, Julia Fish: bound by spectrum features a selection of paintings and works on paper from the last decade by one of Chicago’s most significant artists. Primarily based on architectural details within her house — a 1922 two-flat storefront on the near north side of the city — the works are meticulously detailed yet curiously ambiguous. Join Fish for a short lecture followed by a conversation in the galleries to learn more about her artistic practice and inspirations.
Presented in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Biennial, DePaul Department of Art, Media, and Design, DePaul Department of History of Art and Architecture, and Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts.
