Beaujolais Tasting at Vin Chicago

November 15, 2018 | 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

As dictated by French law, the third Thursday in November is the day when the first wine of the new harvest is released. The Beaujolais region has the honor of producing these "Nouveau" wines which are consumed in large volume at harvest celebrations throughout France and, periodically, the rest of the world. Generally, the Nouveau wines are more of a simple alcoholic beverage than a fine wine.
The association of the wonderful Beaujolais region with the simple Nouveau wines, however, has done a great disservice to the great wines of this appellation!
On Thursday, November 15th, Vin aims to correct this injustice with a tasting of over two dozen world-class selections from Beaujolais, focusing not on the Nouveau but on 2015 and 2016 vintage bottlings from some of the region's most exciting producers. They'll take you on a tasting journey through this amazing region as you sample artisan wines imported by Kermit Lynch, The Source, Louis/Dressner, Michael Corso and Jenny & François, along with a handful of delicious "direct import" surprises. And yes, they'll also have the 2018 Nouveau wines open for you to try!
To complement the wines they'll have mouthwatering appetizers from the talented kitchen of Le Bouchon, an iconic Chicago French Bistro that specializes in the cuisine of Burgundy. This is guaranteed to be a fun evening filled with top-notch wines that will be perfect to pour at your Thanksgiving table and other holiday gatherings. The cost is just $25 per person and reservations are required. Reserve your spot now before it sells out!
