Lincoln Park High School Booster Club's First Annual FUNDrive

August 10, 2018 | 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Lincoln Park High School Football ( ) invites Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce members and residents of Lincoln Park to consider donating gently-used clothing and household items at the Lincoln Park High School Booster Club's First Annual FUNDrive, to be held August 10th, 2018 from Noon to 3PM near the entrance to Lincoln Park High School. There will be signage and players in jerseys to identify the collection area. If you have the items ready beforehand, feel free to bring them to our drop off location at Bridgeview Bank at 1970 N Halsted during regular business hours.
The drive's goal is to raise $5,000 to be used to purchase much needed equipment the program currently lacks. Such equipment includes blocking sleds, endzone cameras, new footballs and other necessary equipment to keep the program competitive. Last year, LPHS Football went 8-1, won conference and qualified for the Illinois State Playoffs. This year, the team has moved to the Land Of Lincoln Conference, a much tougher place to play football. The program sent ten seniors from last year's team on to play college football and a chance to earn a degree.
All items collected from the drive are then turned over to Unique Thrift Store on Elston, owned by SAVERS. They then pay the football program by the pound for every qualifying donation received. These items help keep their floors fully stocked.  The Unique thrift store on Elston directly benefits Vietnam Veterans of America.
A typical large black garbage bag full of clothes weighs approximately 30 pounds. Our goal is to collect 600 bags of clothing. Our team goal is 150-175 bags so we're hoping the Lincoln Park community will help us make up the difference. We need an additional 450 bags of clothing. We hope you will help.
