Lumiere Gala: A Fundraiser for Marillac St. Vincent Family Services

May 18, 2023 | 6:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Introducing the Lumiere Gala! Join in for an evening of dinner, a live auction, and dancing as they present their Luminary Award to AT&T in celebration of their longstanding partnership.

Formerly the Fleur de Lis Ball, the new name, “Lumiere,” is a recognition of the legacy of the Daughters of Charity who founded Marillac Social Center in 1914 and St. Vincent de Paul Center in 1915 in Chicago. The name “Lumiere” translates to “light” in French and is a reference to the “vision of light” experienced by St. Louise de Marillac in 1623 when she received her calling to dedicate her life to those in need. From that calling, the Daughters of Charity were established in 1633 by St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul in Paris, France.

Marillac St. Vincent Family Services stands as the continuation of that commitment to serving those in need and to doing so in the city of Chicago. The people who deliver their services with love and compassion are the light and hope that pours into those who visit them daily. From that light and hope come progress and social well-being that everyone deserves so they may flourish and thrive in life.
