Over the past 35 years, the “metamorphosis” of LPCS, and the increasing number of individuals facing homelessness we have served, has become an incredible point of pride. They started in a church basement, as a community of people who wanted to help those in need of shelter. They accomplished that and rather than staying comfortable they asked, “What more can we do to help?”
35 years later, they are serving more than 100 individuals every day, have two locations with interim housing and comprehensive services, and 37 permanent supportive housing apartments. Everyone, our donors, community, staff, and Guests, have worked tirelessly to make LPCS into what it is today. None of this has come easily, but the growing pains have been worth it. We are proud of what we do and the fact that we will always ask, “What more can we do for our community?”
They hope you will join them in celebrating their continued growth and service at their spring gala, Metamorphosis, on Friday, April 24th at the beautiful Newberry Library!
Metamorphosis includes cocktails, dinner, music, dancing, a live auction, great company and more. The Newberry Library's exhibitions will be open to guests during our cocktail hour.
All proceeds from Metamorphosis will go directly towards serving the Guests and programs of Lincoln Park Community Services.
