Art on Clark Returns with Live Art Activations

Art on Clark returns with a series of captivating art activations, including live painting and chalk drawings by the talented artist Cheri Lee Charlton. Charlton will be on Clark Street presenting live painting and a Chalk Festival throughout the month of July. Listed below is the complete schedule:

  • Live Painting – Saturday, July 8 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. and then 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. near The Wiener’s Circle (2622 N. Clark)
  • Chalk Festival featuring 20 Artists – Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on the sidewalks in front of and around Target (2650 N. Clark)
  • Live Painting – Saturday, July 22 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. and then 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. near Dad’s Park next to Yoberri Gourmet (2224 N. Clark)

Cheri Lee Charlton is an illustrator, muralist, and teacher who lives in Chicago, IL. She has an MFA in Painting from Ohio University. She has been a college instructor for 15 years, most recently with the illustration department at Columbia College as a full time Practitioner in Residence. She has created work for clients such as The Sister Cities of Chicago, The American Consulate in Casablanca, BLICK Art Materials, The Girl Scouts of America, The Audubon Society, Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Gino’s East Pizza, and Neighborhood Hotel Lincoln Park. She is passionate about art education and promoting opportunities for young artists to learn more about the creation of murals. The content of her illustration focuses on whimsical depictions of children, nature, animals, and themes of environmental stewardship. Art on Clark visitors are also encouraged to explore the incredible sculptures created by Chicago-based artists adorning Clark Street from Armitage to Diversey in Lincoln Park. Sculptures featured in Art on Clark are:
