Like many of its small business peers, Vanille has been forced to make heart-wrenching changes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yet, Vanille’s team feels an overwhelming sense of gratitude thanks to the positivity and support the business continues to receive from their loyal customers and local residents. In this spirit, Vanille is using its Lincoln Park kitchen to fulfill custom “Quarantine Special” orders online from customers for curbside pickup. Sophie Evanoff (owner) created sweet riffs on humorous memes (Lori Cake) and popular films (Tiger King Cake) and proceeds will go to lunches delivered to Chicago’s essential workers. The new “Chicago Strong” menu features the shop’s signature pastries, cakes, macaroons. All items including the donated meals are available for purchase on Vanille’s website.

So far, over one thousand meals have been sponsored so far which were distributed to 911 call center and emergency service workers.
